Computer Science and Engineering is the study of theoretical and practical applications of computers in which the principles of mathematics, engineering, software, hardware etc. are applied. This field of engineering has revolutionized the growth of society for the last few decades and will continue to impact the world in the coming decades due to its technological advancements.
It is a highly developing and evolving field and has brought along a lot of job opportunities leading to a surge in demand for computer science professionals. It plays a significant role in many fields such as banking, ecommerce, finance, healthcare, security, logistics and every field that one can think of. Pursuing computer science at the graduation level strengthens any students’ career options and makes a student highly sought after by the IT industry and helps him/her to land into the role of System Engineer, System Analyst, Data Scientist, Data Analyst, Software Programmer, Software Tester, Enterprise Architect or Research Analyst by inculcating the skills to build the future technology.
If one is interested in higher studies after B. Tech, he/she can opt for any one of the post graduate courses like, M. Tech./M. E/MBA etc.
Eligibility for B. Tech / M. Tech Integrated Programs Under Regular Stream:
Nationality and Age: Resident Indian.

Should have attained the age of 16 years and 6 months on the 31st July of the calendar year in which the 12th Board examination is to be held.
Qualifying Examination:
Applicant should have passed in Higher secondary examination (10 +2 pattern) or appearing in Higher Secondary examination in the current academic year with a minimum of 60% aggregate (3 subjects) in Physics (mandatory) , Mathematics (mandatory) and at least one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Information Technology / Informatics Practices / Engineering Graphics / Botany and Zoology as major subjects in regular subjects in regular stream from any board within India , CBSE , ISCE , IB or NIOS.
For B.Tech Programs offered by the Department of Biotechnology, Department of Genetic Engineering and Department of Biomedical Engineering – minimum 60% aggregate in PCM / PMB/PCB/PCB or Z (Botany or Zoology). Students admitted for the above programs and who have not studied Mathematics as one of the major subjects in 10 +2 must undertake an additional 4 credit course in Mathematics during the First Year of B.Tech.
